User testing for product optimisation
Build better products with users’ feedback
Smooth user experience is what tells apart great products from the rest and this doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of a planned effort aimed at understanding the user and how they’re interacting with the product and then iterating based on these insights. One of the methods we like to use is checking in with the users and gaining feedback through user testing. This allows us to determine whether there are any friction or pain points on the user’s journey so that we can improve the product or feature or build a new product informed by the test results.
Advantages of user testing
Understand the users
Understand how users are using the product and gain valuable insights into their behaviours and thoughts.
Improve user satisfaction
By fixing usability issues, you can improve the overall user experience, leading to higher user satisfaction and engagement.
Increase efficiency
A product that is easy to use and navigate can help users complete tasks more efficiently and effectively.
Reduce development costs
Identify usability problems early so that necessary changes can be made before implementation, saving time and money in the long run.
Optimise existing product
Understand what may be causing friction or usability problems and implement changes to improve and optimise the user experience.
Validate a concept
Test a new product or feature idea with real users before investing money and resources to ensure it resonates with your target group.
How does it work?
The following steps may precede the creation of an interactive prototype.
- Goals and objectives of the user test need to be defined as the first step.
- Next, we recruit participants matching your target user group.
- Then we conduct the user test, during which the participants are asked to perform specific tasks while using the product.
- Once the testing phase is completed, we collect and analyse the data to identify the issues and areas for improvement.

FAQ – User Testing
If you still have questions, you will find the most important answers summarized here.
What is user testing?
User testing is a process used to evaluate a product, feature, or service by testing it with real users. The goal is to observe how users interact with the product and identify any usability issues or areas for improvement.
Why is user testing important?
User testing is important because it provides direct feedback from the target audience, helping to ensure that the product is user-friendly, meets user needs, and reduces the risk of costly redesigns later.
When should user testing be conducted?
User testing can be conducted at various stages of the development process, including during the initial design phase, after creating a prototype, and before launching the final product.
What is the difference between user testing and usability testing?
While often used interchangeably, user testing focuses on observing users' interactions with a product to understand their experience, while usability testing specifically evaluates how easy and efficient the product is to use.
