Hybrid Heroes – Agency for web app development
Web app development - by professionals for your success. We program powerful, intuitive and secure web applications.
What is a web app
Web apps are browser-based applications that can be accessed via the internet without installation and work on computers as well as iOS and Android devices. We help you from the evaluation of your web app concept through to successful publication.
OneGreen: Web app made in Berlin – for companies & startups
OneGreen.de enables electric car drivers to sell their GHG quota (greenhouse gas reduction quota). We developed the platform for this web app project, including the website, content management system, back-end system and back-office processes.
To apply for the GHG quota at OneGreen, users have to go through a checkout process and upload vehicle data. This data is pre-qualified in the backend by OneGreen employees and then shared with the Federal Environment Agency (UBA) for final verification. An absolutely secure and 100% compliant checkout funnel in terms of data protection was therefore a top priority.
OneGreen web app tech stack & features:
- Web app & website based on Next.js
- Backend programming with the help of the Directus data platform
- Search engine optimized web app with server-side rendering
- API interfaces for smooth data transfer
- Clearly defined user profiles and easy-to-use user interface for administrators
Bild.de/leasing: SEO-optimized web app for car leasing

High priority was given to load time optimization, SEO and scalability for hundreds of thousands of users.
Features of the web app:
- Strong SEO optimization and scalability

From concept to finished web app
Requirements analysis & technology consulting
As a web app agency, it is important to us that we understand exactly what your goals are, how different user groups will later use your web app, which functions the web app must have and which existing systems it should be integrated into. Based on this information, we can discuss which app development framework is the best fit and develop a technical concept.
Proof of Concept
A proof of concept (PoC) is often created to test the feasibility of your web app idea. For this purpose, we develop an interactive prototype of your web app. This enables us to test the technical feasibility, quickly identify potential problems and also receive important feedback from our customers or users at an early stage.
UI/UX Design
The user interface (UI) design and the user experience (UX) are of great importance for the success of your web app. Intuitive navigation and a user-friendly, appealing design improve user retention and can help to attract new target groups. One major advantage is that we have already been involved in the design of almost 100 web apps and apps. This experience also flows into the design of your web app.
Web app programming
The actual development of the web app takes place in the implementation phase. Now we implement your web app idea based on the proof of concept and the previously defined requirements. We often rely on Next.js for web app development, as this framework offers various advantages in terms of performance, integration of other technologies and scalability.
Testing
Before a web app is published, it must of course be thoroughly tested. This includes: Functional tests, performance tests, security tests and usability tests. A thorough test phase helps to ensure the quality of the web app and avoid problems at launch.
Web app publication
After successful testing, the time has finally come and the web app is ready to be published. Various aspects, such as hosting, need to be considered when publishing a web app. We work with automated deployment processes and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines.
Maintenance, updates and tracking
Continuous monitoring of the web app guarantees that failures are registered and addressed immediately. This ensures the security and availability of your web app. By integrating tracking technologies, we ensure that your marketing department receives the relevant insights into user acquisition and user behavior. Regular updates ensure smooth use and continuous improvement of the user experience.
Examples of web apps
Web apps are usually highly interactive, unique applications that cover specific use cases. Prominent examples of popular web apps include Google Docs, Gmail and Facebook. Whenever factors such as individual user experience, seamless integration into existing systems or the handling of online-based processes are important, web apps can be a good solution.
What are the advantages of a web app?
Compared to normal websites, web apps are characterized by a high level of interactivity and uniqueness and are therefore similar to mobile apps in terms of user experience.
Compared to mobile apps, web apps have advantages but also disadvantages. The biggest advantage of a web app is that it works platform-independently in the browser on all end devices. A web app also does not have to be downloaded via an app store, but is essentially a website with app-like functions.
Updates to web apps can therefore be carried out without any problems and are directly available to all users. However, there are technical limitations compared to mobile apps: Offline use, for example, is usually not possible. Contact us to discuss, without obligation, which approach is best suited to your app project.
Which framework for web app development?
For web app development, we prefer to use established frameworks such as React or Next.js. In addition to front-end development, Next.js also offers the option of back-end development. For web apps with database access, we use various content management system providers.
High data protection standards: GDPR-compliant user analysis and hosting
Top speed: Supports code splitting, optimized images, fonts and scripts for fast loading and navigation within the web app
Scalable: Next.js is based on React and is ideal for static or dynamically generated pages and APl integration
SEO optimized: Web apps that are rendered on the server side are optimized for Google searches
