Bmobile 3.0: The innovative sales app for BOMAG
Today, sales works digitally. Apps to support sales teams are becoming increasingly important in the sales process. The advantages are obvious: product information no longer needs to be kept in paper form, updates to metadata and assets are always possible, and moving image content can be used to showcase high-quality products in a powerful way. For BOMAG GmbH, one of the leading suppliers in the field of compaction machines, we implemented an innovative solution to support the globally operating sales team.
The BOMAG Group is an absolute champion in the field of construction machinery manufacturing. The company's products are used in the compaction of earth, asphalt and waste. Stabilisers/recyclers, milling machines and road pavers round off the range. In these areas, up-to-date and accurate product information, as well as detailed product views by picture or video, play an essential role in an investment decision.
In order to provide the sales staff with the best tool for this, we were commissioned with the development of a user concept and UI design, the development of an iOS, Android and Windows app as well as the rollout within the company and for all external sales partners.
The result: The Bmobile 3.0 sales app offers both internal and external sales staff a powerful tool in the dialogue with interested leads and combines all information and news about the machines of the company from Rhineland-Palatinate.
Functions at a glance
Login via Active DirectoryThe app is accessible to users like other Group services via the company's internal user account. According to the company-wide authorisation system, the content is displayed on a user-specific basis.
Integration into existing systemsBmobile 3.0 loads all product information from the existing PIM system. This means that there is no additional effort for the project managers to maintain the content.
Product data retrievalProduct data is presented comprehensively and attractively on the product pages. Here, not only pictures and videos can be called up, but also all machine specifications in text or document form.
News entriesIn addition to product and category information, the global marketing department can use the app to provide information and news for the respective markets. This way, sales staff worldwide are even better informed about innovations.
Document downloadAll available documents for a product are available as PDF documents and can either be made available directly via the Share Dialogue or added to a watchlist. Via the watchlist, all documents can be sent as a zip download to contact persons.
Offline useFor us, this is now almost a standard feature: Bmobile 3.0 offers an offline mode for sales staff who are often on the move. This ensures data availability even in regions or call situations with poor internet connections.
Content Management SystemA lean CMS was developed and provided for news articles and category management. The backend component also takes over smaller tasks in the area of data allocation.
Push NotificationsVia push notifications, the head office now has the possibility to communicate directly with the sales staff, targeted in the respective national language.
Smartphone, Tablet and DesktopThe app is optimised both in terms of design and technology for smartphones, tablets and Windows computers in order to guarantee high-quality and high-performance product presentations in every situation.
Together with the client, we developed a design system based on the company's corporate identity in order to stage the app ideally for smartphones, tablets and desktop PCs.
With our innovative cross-platform approach, it was possible to create the app for iOS, Android and Windows from one code base using the React Native Framework. This also simplifies the future maintenance and further development of the app.
Thus, the ambitious schedule could be kept and Bmobile 3.0 was completed for the largest construction machinery trade fair, Bauma.
